Gone thrifting....

I was able to squeeze a short trip to local a thrift store today in between school and rushing home to study for the next day. I am glad I did.
Look what I found...

I am even happier to see that it matches my previous thrifting tresures...



I don't have much to show today for my quilting, but tomorrow is Wednesday and it seems like that is the day, that I can find time sewing in the evening. I can hardly wait. I was searching for more ideas for baby quilts, vintage sheets quilts and found plenty of inspiration.
If you need some, just zoom over on flickr and type baby quilts, or vintage sheets quilts into the search box. You'll find plenty.
I also have a question for all you experienced free motion machine quilters (meaning ones who do it at home on the regular machine). I finally got a darning foot and have a huge plans to practice free motion quilting. However, I am missing the attachable quilting table on my machine. I found some on ebay for around $65 that is supposed to work for most of the machine (my machine fits into the described dimensions). I am planning on buying it, but wanted to ask if you have any suggestions.

Good deals...

I guess, I never mentioned what I bought and won at the quilt show. Oh, I've seen fabrics and fabrics and patterns and quilt kits and all , but....
I was drawn towards the overflowing table full of old, vintage fabrics that ladies from the local quild brought from their homes to sell (almost for nothing) and outdated quilting magazines (3 for $1). I love these stuff. I don't know what it is that pulls me right to these old things.
However, old or not I found some great fabrics - all solids. Cotton and linen in white, off-white, natural and brownish shades. All of them are bundles of 1.5 and more yards.




This was my door price win. Set of four quarters. I might need to divide those on two and two. All four of them together don't necessary work for me.

New/ Old Kitchen

This past weekend our landlord cleaned up part of the barn and picked up few stuff that he was going to get rid off. He called me to ask me if I want to take a look first. It was very nice of him and yes, of course, I wanted to take a look. I picked up most of toys (outdoor toys) for my dear friend that just had a baby, but found something for me too. This dresser (the bottom part) was a perfect size to fit with my thrifted shelf from about three years ago. They look together as they were meant to be for each other.



This addition really put our little kitchen together and created brand new space for us. I have enough storage for all those little things just laying around before and shelf to show off my little treasures.



I hanged my favorite vintage apron on the drawers and love it even more.



Look what I found in thrift shop? I think it's beginning of a new collection. It fits great in my new/old kitchen.



Our new addition might not coordinate with our second shelf in the kitchen, but I know that one day when we have our own house we will be able to make it work. For right now, we enjoy what we have and collect pieces for our future dream home.
